I do think John meant Jake Ryan, though, as he was driving around in his red car looking for Sam ("She get MARRIED") until he finally finds her. Lloyd Dobler drove a POS blue car. ;-)
I enjoy both serious and funny posts although you frequently artfully combine both moods in the same post. Never know and often surprised by the stories and thoughts you pull from your bag of memories and experiences.
