Well done, Lara! Your theories make much sense, and your lead in and interpretation of Mad Men was very astute. I enjoyed reading this.

So much gratitude for you speaking up about mental health and our coming to terms with personal and collective trauma. I wish I could open a door 100times daily for all the Donalds, JDs or Rosannes. I do this work professionally and I believe that every hour spent on personal archeology rewards us all, and our planet.

Wow. This is probably my favorite essay you’ve written. Glad you took your time getting it up and out of you. It was well worth the wait. Your analysis of Vance and comparisons to Mad Men is illuminating. Sharing this one broadly.

What Carol and Eric said!!!

Lara - I watched “Mad Men” and read “Hillbilly Elegy” and I would never have connected them so beautifully. I hope Jon Hamm sees this!

Wow, thank you for the best Vance analysis I've seen anywhere. I think I'll pass on the volumizer, though. 😊
