Oof. Poor B. He is never going to change, and I shudder to think of the damage he's going to do and what it will take for her to extricate herself. You dodged a bullet Lara. It's interesting to me that he's such a gifted con artist that (at least) two of the women he was involved with chose to ignore warnings from his exes and give him the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure he gets better at the con as he continues to practice. Thanks for opening up and sharing this story! I hope getting it out brings the healing you've been seeking.
Thank you so much for reading Erin. His definitely gifted, and in the story I'm relaying the worst of his behavior. When I was in it, most of our relationship seemed normal and easy. I could easily see a life together if he got his drinking under control.
I got the warning only a few months in, when I was flush with infatuation. Cris, if he is to be believed, had been seeing B for two years and living with her for a year when Crystal reached out. By then, she had surely seen him drunk, and for her own reasons decided the good outweighed the bad.
He really can make you feel that special and loved.
I need an Etsy caftan although I have plenty of flowy things already. And I had no idea it’s pathetic to go to Vegas at my age! I love it, the pools, the food, the wacky people, the piano bars!
It's not pathetic to *go* to Vegas at any age! I'm half-scheming to go for my birthday in March for the Princess Diana exhibit and other wacky weirdness. What's pathetic at our age is partying like a frat boy or Girl Gone Wild.
I absolutely ADORE your vintage cookbook display. That should stay up forever. And I'm so conflicted about following Geloy Concepcion's Insta. On the one hand, it's heartening to see that others think some of the same things I have thought, but on the other, those thoughts can be really painful and I want to bust through negative thoughts that don't serve me. Glad to have read the entire Sister Ex saga but glad that you can now move on and regale us with your many (and I know you have many) other llife-is-stranger-than-fiction stories.
Thank you so much for being such a consistent support. It means so much to me <3 And yeah, I sort of dip in and out of Geloy's posts. Sometimes it's very moving, sometimes it's more than I can take in.
And thank you for the appreciation of the cookbook wall! I swapped out holiday books in December, and now the boards are leaning against the wall waiting for the next scheme/theme :)
It was a glorious party. I’m so glad I was there. It’s fun to read your description and relive it.
I'm so glad you were there Haly!! Xox

Of course he can - he's a skilled manipulator and that's how they do it.
Do I sound naive if I believe he really did love me to the best of his twisted ability?

I am pathetic, then!! 🤣🤣
